The Entertainer – Baths new premier Toy Shop

The Entertainer has opened in place of the downstairs M & S cafe. We have known for a while that a new store would be opening but only recently did we know what it would be.

What’s the Entertainer like?

As can be seen in the picture above, the new store is bright and larger than any other toy store in Bath. The store is packed floor to ceiling with toys for all ages. With the closure of the long standing Eric Snook’s Toy Shop it has been a while since we have had a large toy shop. Whilst Hawkins Bazaar has been in the city for years it is more of a gag gifts and gadgets type shop than a toy shop.

Tough times for toys

With all the trouble this year in retail and with the loss of many chains like Toys R Us. There are some actually bucking that trend. The Entertainer and Smith’s are certainly two of those reaping the rewards. Continued growth is visible while picking up the slack from the gap left in the market by Toys R Us.

What toys are available?

The selection of toys is actually quite vast. Boys and girls of all ages are bound to find something to enjoy. They have everything from toys for new born’s babies all the way up to, well not quite my age but I did like the range of Lego available.

Fans of Frozen will also be pleased as there are soft toys, sets and dolls to the right of the cashiers desk. There are also Duplo Frozen sets which are great for younger children before they graduate to full sized Lego. I bought a set for my niece for Christmas and I can assure you she loves it.

Have you been to the Entertainer? What did you think of their new store and have you been to one of their other stores? Was there anything that you did not like?
